Wireth sighs.

"Speaking of delicate, I think you've both failed to notice that I think Fastus has hurt Jariah's feelings," Wireth says, nodding to the front door which has swung shut behind the summoner.

"I'm the last person who understands human companionship, and I figure I'll always be an outsider, but even I can tell the girl's a might more sensitive than I think she lets on."

"See, if Jariah had a normal cat she could use it as a hanky," says Sulrel, sighing. "That things 'skin' would probably just irritate the eyes though."

"Way to GO, blacksmith! You scared her off! You know, people aren't like iron bars, where you just hammer them until they do what you want! You have to be subtle sometimes. Delicate. Like me."

"Hey! I'm disappointed TOO, you know?" fired back the young man. "WITH Elli and SULDREL helping out too!" And all they got was 'excuse me' and 'have a good day'? Fire turned to ash in his mouth. "I'd figured she'd at least be glad to be asked, right...?"

People were saying things, but he wasn't really listening... Then he looked back up, brown eyes burning with sudden determination (literally for about half a second).

Fastus strode over to the bar, right across from the red-clad bard: "Alright, what's happening with you, Ameiko? 'Excuse me'? 'Have a good day'? What is THAT? We're your friends and you're AMEIKO! You fight bandits and monsters! You're- irreverent fire and burning steel! Burnt it, last winter you sat right THERE, on that stage, and sung about adventure with such burning DESIRE that I cried a little!"

She'd looked right at him as he did it too, so it wasn't like it was news for her or anything.

So much for the 'delicate' approach, right?

OOC: Extrapolated some of that from Ameiko's description in the player's guide.

Elsbeth

Elsbeth was disappointed that Ameiko would not join them but understood the woman's need to do her own thing. Running an Inn was probably a big responsibility. It sure looked like it anyway. She had a hard time understanding Fastus or most people for that matter. Why did Jariah leave? Perhaps she was bored with the conversation?

Elsbeth almost choked when Sachiko said she was delicate. Sachiko was tougher than most women. It took her a moment to realize that Sachiko meant diplomatic and was not referring to her physical toughness.

Her brows furrowed as she observed Fastus pressing his insistence on Ameiko joining them. Clearly Ameiko had stated she had no interest in joining them today.

"I do not understand why Fastus continues to bother Ameiko. Clearly she has other duties to attend to today and has no time to spare to join our expedition." she casually mentioned.

Sachiko gazed after Fastus, and there was an odd sense of...satisfaction?...lurking in the slight smirk, the pleased narrowing of eyes.

When Elsbeth spoke to her, she glanced over and shrugged. "Fastus acts on what he feels. He's not fully in control of himself like you and me. That's why he needs someone to help keep him from embarrassing himself like that."

An odd declaration to make, considering that a credible argument could be made for her having incited him to do that. Perhaps she was trying to prove a point? Or maybe that was giving her too much credit, and she was just flipflopping again to the most self-congratulatory side of the issue.

"I wonder where Jariah went off to...you don't think she left without us do you?"

Jariah sat on a barrel, not too far from the entrance of the Rusty Dragon. She petted Jakira’s head as he rested his chin on her lap.

It looks like I just just skipped that all together. The bounty was offered by Sheriff Belor Hemlock but was paid out by Mayor Kendra Deverin. Also of note, Town Priest Abstalar Zantus was available to heal anyone that was not quite healed up after your night of sleep. So assume that everyone is back to full health including constitution. Even though you wiped out the goblin village, the bounty is still in effect until further notice.

Wireth Norin, half-orc falconer

Wireth gves Suldrel a crooked smile as he quips about Jakira's fur.

"So, I'm gathering that Fastus seems to take his work as a little too all-encompassing," Wireth comments to Suldrel under his breath. "I mean, I think he might actually be under the impression that people bend just like metal under enough heat."

As Sachiko asks about Jariah, Wireth clears his throat and speaks up.

"Jariah went that way," the half-orc announces, jabbing his thumb to the door. "I think there was only so much of that--" here he points at the petulant blacksmith where he continues to molest Ameiko--"--she was up for. You lot may be used to him, and I just generally assume to humans will be abrasive, but I don't think Jariah's built up the emotional calluses to handle Fastus' ... Fastus-ness."

"Alright, what's happening with you, Ameiko? 'Excuse me'? 'Have a good day'? What is THAT? We're your friends and you're AMEIKO! You fight bandits and monsters! "I haven't the time nor the energy to go into all the details. Perhaps one day I will be able to recall the details. But today I am busy running the Rusty Dragon and the Sandpoint Glassworks."

"Tch," Sachiko tchs. She gets up from the table. "I'm gonna go check in with her. Don't leave without us!"

She made her way through the Rusty Dragon then and out the door...there to spy Jariah and Jakira chilling just outside.

The little bard took up a spot against the inn's wall by the barrel, leaning nonchalantly against it. For a second she showed solidarity with the 'strong silent' wave Jariah was riding by incredibly keeping her trap shut.

Then she said, "Hey. Uh. You okay?"
