First Post
Replace the traps in your current plan, with ALL the traps from Lord of the Rings, in one location. Add all the traps in Beowulf, the Epic of Gilgamesh, and the Iliad, for good measure. Not enough? Add all the traps from The Princess Bride... and the one from Seven Samurai.

"I don't like the Arcane Trickster because of this very ability. It effectively neutralises any and all traps fitted to locks."

That's not even the close to the best thing you can do with this ability. Any time my rogue has initiative, I use my first turn to negate the most dangerous enemy in range that's failed to arm himself: I yank swords out of sheaths, pull quivers off backs, I empty the components out of a spellcaster's pouch, etc. I also look for opportunities not just to disarm traps at range, but to *fail* to disarm traps at range. Explosives detonate near the goblins that set them, a dart trap hits a group of kobolds who weren't even standing on the pressure plate, etc. These are rare opportunities, but oh so satisfying :)
