D&D 4E Neverwinter Campaign Setting (4e to 5e)

Please enlighten me because I'm a bit confused. Are you talking about in-game they are considered illegal or has WotC been pushing that they aren't allowing maps to be done?

There should be art from the NWCS book on WotC's site somewhere.

In game, of course.

From page 131 of 2E's Volo's Guide to the North: "... Nasher doesn't allow maps of the city to be made (hence the lack of one in these pages). This is to keep the spies of Luskan busy and add a minor measure of difficulty to any Luskanite invasion plans...."

Gotcha. I never read any of the Volo's material so it's just side fluff for me. I'll never use it, but I appreciate the clarification.

One a side note, this right here is the perfect example of my distaste of the realms pre 4e. There are so many peices of information spread out through numerous books that some players insist must be followed. I know it's more of an acedemic situation that probably won't come up. But at least with the 4e realms enough changed that you can keep players in wonderment. /rant

I adjusted the area map slightly from the NCG to fit in with Lost Mine a little better.

Fortunately, not all of us have those sorts of players.

That said, in this age of PDFs keeping track of the material is not as difficult as it was during the 2E era, and the FR Wikia is another big help. But I do get what you're saying otherwise.

There is, I was able to find that. What I can't find, and doesn't seem to exist, is any pre-4th edition maps of Neverwinter. Even the 4e version doesn't really have keyed locations.

Yep, and my post above explains why.

But Volo's Guide to the North does have some additional locations that are easy enough to add to the map.

I'll ask here too - is anyone aware of a good city adventure that could be blended with the Neverwinter setting?

3E's Speaker in Dreams is really suitable, as is Richard Pett's The Styes from the 3.5E Dungeon era. The Sunless Citadel can also fit easily into The Chasm. (The beauty of The Chasm is that it lets you fit dungeon adventures into the city itself, more or less. :) )

And I have nothing but praise for 4E's Shards of Selûne from Dungeon 172 (?) which became the framework for my campaign from levels 2-8. It was released to support the Neverwinter Campaign Setting.
