D&D 5E Out of the Abyss in my grubby hands (pic attached)

No, the only appendices in Out of the Abyss are Backgrounds (1 page of Features and Bonds), Magic Items, Creatures and Demon Lords.
This makes me sad, but I can't say it's unexpected. When you bake in Menzoberran, drow politics, and cameos by a handful of name-brand NPCs, it's pretty hard to pull it out of Faerun.

Spoilers! Underdark regional map now available.

Hey guys,

I've made hi-res digital and print versions of my regional map of the Underdark from Out of the Abyss available here.

Jared Blando worked on the battle maps for this adventure and will have them up on the 15th apparently. Check his site here to see if they are ready to go.

Cheers!

 Before it sunk in that you meant "cancelling one D&D session", I was picturing a hardcore DM cashing in 40 hours of vacation time and shacking up with the module like it's their hot new lover.

I'm sure he'd PREFER that, but he just meant one session cancelled.

I bought your map. (Which is great and useful for any campaign taking place in the Sword Coast.)

But I have a curiosity. I looked at the Encounters version of the map and it has different labels along with being smaller. It brings up several locations that are not on the map you listed.

Pretty much what I am asking is do you have a big version of this map?

Also comparing them the locations don't match up in some cases. It's strange. To book owners is the map closer to this one or is it more like Mike's sold one?

It looks like there were a few text/tag changes made after I turned over the final artwork. I'll have to take a closer look and compare this one and my final side by side. As for the one in the adventure, once I have a physical copy of the book in my hands I'll be better able to see exactly what the editors may have changed.

The toughes part is keeping up with late arriving editorial changes. Often, as adventures are tweaked late in the game, minor changes are made to the map in-house at WotC that I'm unaware of until those little discrepancies are pointed out by readers. It's actually super helpful whenever a gamer notifies me of a text or tag change so that I can update my digital version. If anyone has the physical copy and sees a discrepancy with the version on my site, please let me know! :)

Well I know that the Middle dark ones around darklake should probably be updated to your big map as they are all important locations in the adventure. Not that I own the book yet.

I will happily point out the changes once I get mine. As I play online so have a big version like yours is utterly fantastic for the games.

Thanks for the heads up BTW! My guess is that they cut a number of locations out of the Encounters map to avoid spoilers and focus on what was pertinent to the Encounters arc. It looks like they may have shifted a few site locations a little bit as well.

Question for you! How readily do you feel Out of the Abyss lends itself to Underdark sandbox style play? Specifically, I'm running a mashup of Night Below and I'm wondering how much of Out of the Abyss I'll be able to use purely for cool locations, NPCs, and monsters?
