Cal took everything in with his usual stoicism. Not one to question such a gift, the medic proceeded to open his medikit and treat the rest of the party, tending to those most in need of healing, including himself. Once he finished his ministrations, he said, "As long as the rest of those soldiers stay away, we should be safe. Seemed like they were using military gear. Might be better than what we are using. Anyone interested in scavenging with me while the rest recover?"

Along with any others who want to help, Cal proceeded to check on their defeated enemies, gathering up belongings that seemed useful. He also checked each to determine if they were, indeed, deceased.

OOC: I figure we can recover gear from the Lieutenant, the Sergeant, and how ever many soldiers we defeated. Should be at least a blaster pistol, two blaster sniper rifles, several blaster rifles, two sets of scout armor, several sets of trooper armor, two sets of Ghillie suits, and the Lieutenant's datapad. Also of note is that each defeated enemy had a utility belt, which come stock with several items including a medpac, and extra power packs/energy cells.

If allowed, I'll just take 10 on my Medicine checks to determine if they're alive or dead.

GM: All the troopers and the sergeant are dead. The Lieutenant probably bled out but I should make some death saves for her (made one, failed two): first 3 death saves: 1D20 = [6] = 6
1D20 = [11] = 11
1D20 = [2] = 2

and (made two more before she failed so she stabilzed but is in bad shape. You can use a use from you Medical Kit to wake her up if you want.) second 3 death saves: 1D20 = [19] = 19
1D20 = [16] = 16
1D20 = [1] = 1

So killed 4 Troopers and 2 Snipers along with the Sergeant so you have 5 sets of Trooper armor and 2 of scout. You have 5 blaster rifles and 2 blaster sniper rifles along with any of the miscellaneous gear that you might want and the Lieutenant's items.

At present Reks is at 10 hit points so rolling HD with advantage and +6 to the end result, gets Hit dice during long rest: 2D10.HIGH(1)+8 = [2, 1]+8 = 10
2D10.HIGH(1)+8 = [4, 10]+8 = 18

That gets him up to 38 (of 64) so he will use two more Hit dice during long rest: 2D10.HIGH(1)+8 = [6, 10]+8 = 18
2D10.HIGH(1)+8 = [9, 5]+8 = 17

Wow that was a good one so he got back 35 more and he is up to full but he is down 2 Hit Dice for healing today (he still have 4 so might not want to waste a use from the Medical Kit yet.

"Rest here for a time and gather your strength. When you are done I will open the central locking mechanism and you will decent into the Star Chamber and face the dark ones there..."
Crackle-ty whirr cli-ick, weakly stumble-talks the injured gand, still lying on the ground. "What are you?"

Looking at this Gand the aberration says (into all of your minds) "A shadow of what once was. A mere whisper of past glory and harmony. An echo of those whom were seeking for the answers to the great mysteries and were deceived by the guile of the darken Way..."

Jihahna stops at the stillness. Slowing her breathing, she listens intently to the being in front of her. Accepting this restful gift, she raises her eyes after it speaks to this Gand.

"You're not a shadow... Shadows don't help people."

Looking down at her feet, checking over her rifle and equipment, she continues speaking...

"All my life i've been focused on taking from people, all I received in return is two blown up limbs and a false name to live under for the rest of my life. If anyone's a shadow here, it's me!"

She looks up at Kacela, tears forming in her eyes.

"The truth is, I've never really feared the force or the Jedi, i've just feared what you and those who wield it represent... Because in my mind, people like you, like that Kwa here put me to shame! Because in a galaxy full of greed, full of pain, there's no room for compassion, yet, you've shown it!"

She grips her left hand into a shaking fist of metal, her jaw tensing as the memories of her past flow through her mind.
"But where was your compassion when 'WE'.... When.... I needed it most?"

She stops at her last comment, shame gripping her face at her outburst, she sits on the floor working again on her equipment, wiping away her tears as they well up in her eyes.

"Ahhh, you wouldn't understand....! I'm s- I'm jus-"

Lost for words, she goes silent as she works.

With a few unintended noises, the gand slowly shifts herself and finally manages to slide a three-fingered hand on Jihahna's thigh, offering... alien comfort? Something else?

Her compound eyes remain mostly focused towards the apparition though, in her classic, gand way. Respect, sort-of says a nod of the head. hum cli-clicketty mumble-bl click "What is the star chamber?" A pause, the ammonia pump tied to his breather kicking up, and then settling back down. Slur hum cl-clack jumble click-k-k "How will the Sith activate it?"

(The scene outside their circle has taken on an atemporal look, unnaturally so. It's a feeling like they could stay out here forever, utterly exposed yet utterly safe, as if the world outside their little bubble has stopped...)

The voice of the Kwa ghost says "The Star Chamber was a device that my people created eons ago. It allowed us to open a doorway connecting two star systems through the power of the Way. This doorway would allow one to walk from one world to the next as simple as walking from one chamber to the next. This was a one way trip but we could sent materials through that allowed us to build other Star Chambers on other worlds. We were explorers then. Seeking knowledge of the lifeforce of the Universe. The Way we called it.

"We encountered many beings in our exploration. They were all primitive and without knowledge of the Way. We taught them and guided them. Then we came upon an people whom were as strong in the natural form of the Way as we were. They were aggressive but in our arrogance we thought we could turn them away from their anger but we failed. They rose up and over threw us. Making us slaves to their ambitions. For five hundred years they conquered and spread out. Ruling their Infinity Empire with the iron fist of the darken Way.

"Many of my people fell to this darken Way and followed the Rakata willingly and the power of the Chamber became a weapon of fear. As ships were created to move between the stars more effectively and over greater distances then the Chamber could easily operate, the Rakata discovered that the forces that generated the gateways could also be used to destabilize the core of a star!"

"When the sparks of rebellion started by the Esh-kha people the Rakata exploded their home-world's star, killing most of them. During this time those Kwa that were not infected with the darken Way conceived a plan. With our alchemy were created the Whuiffa Worms to act as our guardians when we were gone and to trap the essence of the most powerful darken Way masters into crystals so that they could not stop us. Then we conjured up a forbidden Way secret to close all of the Star Chambers at once. These acts sent a shock way through the gateways and the living Way that burned out our ability to access it. It did the same to the Rakata as they tied much of their ambition of the Star Chambers to powering their Empire. Both of our civilizations collapsed and fell to barbarism...

"We thought we can closed them forever... but now. Now these new disciples of the darken Way are somehow activating old systems we hopped long destroyed. As you battled their soldiers here they slipped down into the Star Chamber with a number of the crystals that contained the most powerful Rakata warlords. They have started something, I know not what, but I fear it will lead to doom and darkness if you cannot stop them..."

GM: Just as a note, Thirteen and any piece of listening/recording devices are not picking any of this up, nor do they see the Kwa ghost.

drone slurr click whirr clacketty hum clack "Fighting trained soldiers is different," agrees the gand somewhat vaguely, remembering their encounter... mumble clicketty clack, hum clacketty drone whirr-clack "The sergeant acted as bait and kept his men back from the blast." That shokingly empty corridor after the blast! mumble jumble drone click "How did the sergeant know?"

Then it makes a little noise, body speeding up with realization: clacketty hum whirr jumble "The other team saw the preparations." clacketty mumble drone jumble-hum "The other team radioed the sergeant."

So simple!

The gand starts struggling to stand back up.

2 HD recovery: Easing into it: 2D10.HIGH(1)+7 = [4, 2]+7 = 11; 2D10.HIGH(1)+7 = [9, 9]+7 = 16

Cal listened intently to the Kwa spirit or whatever it was. He had spent too much time around the Force lately to discount it, even if he didn't understand it. Give me a trusty blaster and armor any day of the week... he thought. Still, the advanced technology the spirit described would be life changing if it could be recovered. No delay travel between worlds? That was simply amazing. The medic finished tugging on the last piece of the scout armor carapace he had purloined and adjusted the straps one final time, feeling much more confident now that he had armor protecting him.

He noticed the Gand struggling to rise and helped the creature to its feet, checking that the medical devices were still doing their job.

The little alien nods gratefully, using the human very much as a steadying presence. Then she notices the new sith-scout armor... And nods understanding:

clack drone jumble click "Infiltration, Cal Domaru?"

Then to the blue, transparent spirit: mumble clicketty hum jumble clack, mumble whirr click "Could that one possibly act as a scout?" mumble guttural clacketty jumble mumbled-clicketty click "Or perhaps inform these ones on the layout of the rooms below?"

She might not be too steady on her feet yet - and still pressing her chest where one of the bolts hit - but the gand's spirit seems to be slowly getting back into gear; into considering the challenge ahead...
