D&D 5E Anti-DM Tips (AKA what NOT to do!)

6. Try to DM your players in real life, and assume that your in-game authority translates to real-life authority. Encourage bribes.

My DM jokingly does this. Something odd that I've found that he does, though, is that he calls me by my character's name even when we're OOC. He doesn't do this to any of the other players. I'm not sure if it's because he can't remember my name or if it's because my character's name begins with the same letter my name does.

18. Get your players to role-play their actions, then screw them over by nit-picking their specific word choice.

20. Make your players fill out questionnaires every so often which are thinly disguised attempts to get compliments about your DMing skills.

21. Be sure to create a powerful NPC who is the real hero of the campaign and then make the party his sidekicks. That way they can witness how awesome he is. Also make sure he tells them how awesome he is.
