Just tired of being sent to the DMs Guild I guess. Miss the days when people didn't expect monetary reward for their homebrew, and just posted it for immediate consumption in the most accessible way possible...

I've long wanted to contribute to this thread, and my thought was to try Koliada. The Wayne Reynolds pic of her is just too cool not to.

Never got around to it though. It's intimidating. Dave, should you ever feel so inclined, I'd love a step by step example of just how you design a monster and how the various abilities affect CR.
(can't figure out how to use your spreadsheet.... )

Did you download the updated (12/31/16 I believe) spreadsheet in the Downloads section (with the PDF). There are step by step instructions in the spreadsheet.

That being said a tutorial is a good idea. I will try to come up with some guidelines. Now, the best thing to do is just give it a try and send me a draft via email. Then we can go through it together. That has worked will for me and Mechatarrasque.

Pointing to the PDF('s) and giving extra information in the post itself would be ok.
If the PDF would be located on google or dropbox it should be ok automatically.
They have the most common sites whitelisted.

If it's located elsewhere and/or if you have some extra questions it's best to contact the mod(s) beforehand.
They might need to manually approve your post in case their AutoModerator removes it automatically.

What standard powers would you give the archfey? As Demon lords? Princes?

Great! I personally wasn't planning to do a standard set of powers for the Fey Lords as a seem them as having a wide range of abilities with a lot of variability. That being said, it is helpful to have some base line powers (you can always add or modify for individual Lords). I see the Fey Lords ranging from about CR 20 - 29 or so. With Oberon, Titania and maybe Mab being in the 30-31 range. I would look at the Demon Lords and the various Celestial Lords (The Companions, The Court of Stars, & the Hebdomad) for examples of typical powers.

I have added the colossal frost giant Lakkar to the Primordials section (post #6). I took the approach that by absorbing the power of the Winterforge, with its connection to the elemental chaos, Lakkar was transformed into a primordial. Anyway, this gave me a chance to tweak my primordial rules a bit. Let me know what you think.

Sorry for not getting back to you on Koliada. Work has been crazy and I've being doing nothing but that. Hopefully, things will ease up soon.

Well other than Ahat-Hir, he deals the most damage in one attack yes. I started coming up with a more codified expression of size and damage based on stats (in this case strength). So in order to be 1000' tall he needed a strength of at least 44 and that translated to a 111(w) damage. I started doing this fairly recently so at some point I will have to go back and correct the old ones. Note that each "part" is CR 30 and has a combination of defenses and attacks to match. So technically a typical creature of CR30+ can do more damage than a single part, just with multiple attacks.

Sorry for not getting back to you on Koliada. Work has been crazy and I've being doing nothing but that. Hopefully, things will ease up soon.
