Yeaaah, I would have said Eberron a week ago, bit I psyched myself out...

I did too right at the end. Still got 2.5 out of 4 right. I’ll take it (I’m taking half credit for getting starter set right even if I got the Setting wrong )

Good for those that want it. I’ll get it on deep discount someday just to stay complete and I’ll get the races and classes from dndbeyond. I’m sure I can harvest bits for my homebrew. I already integrated an origin for the Warforged in my world..

Not a fan of the setting. Planescape would have been cool or at least an updated Realms. Happy for those that wanted it though.

To be fair, I don't know much about Eberron. I've heard there are sky ships and, if true, is the full extent of my knowledge on the setting. I would be willing to give it a shot.

It's a neat setting that mixes magitech with more pulp action, and sometimes noir elements. The setting creator, Keith Baker, describes it as, "Lord of the Rings meets Indiana Jones and The Maltese Falcon." I like it a fair amount, but it's a setting that knows what it wants to be and leans into its unique elements hard. By extension, it's not a setting that'll appeal to everyone.

Huh, well I certainly love all three of those movies. (Humphrey Bogart was in Falcon, right?)

Yes, Bogart was in Falcon.

The Wayfinder's Guide to Eberron is the 5e gateway to the setting of Eberron and should give you a decent sense of the atmosphere of Eberron. The mechanical aspects (races, magic items, the artificer) aren't quite finalized, so take those sections with a grain of salt.

The gist is that it is a high magic setting: magic so advanced it has effects on society similar to industrialization and science. Hence sentient Golem player characters as a Race, Artificers as magic inventora, magic trains and airships, etc. Everything is slightly different from standard D&D, but still definitely D&D.
