D&D 5E Which Class is "The Best" - Your chance to VOTE!

I feel like it's the best version of the Druid since 1e... mainly on the basis of it being the closest we've come to the awesome of the 1e druid - without the dead man's shoes advancement & hard level cap.

It's a neo-Vancian caster with a pretty nifty class power, so a strong candidate by the numbers.

But it's also perennially among the least popular classes (though that didn't stop the Bard). ::sigh::

Whats up with the Druid?

I played a 1e Druid, and loved it.

But, 5e, Im not getting into it, and cant put my finger on why.

Maybe part of it is the inability to specialize. Want weather magic, get stuck with animal shapes. Want to shapeshift, get stuck with the four elements.

For me the Druid is:
• Shapeshifter
• Plant-animal mage
• Elemental mage
• Healer

Each of these could have been a separate Druid archetype.

It would be nice to specialize in one aspect, and only dabble in the others if choosing to.

But I feel every Druid is a gish, a warrior-mage.

But, Robert - and it's many diminutives, Bob, Bobby, Rob, Robby, Bert, and Robin (yes, really) - is among the most popular names in history! You're totally missing out.

I am a fan of the curve of magnitude:

• 100, 79, 63, 50, 40, 32, 25, 20, 16, 13, 10

It resembles the Golden Curve, but is base 10.

I like how the same proportions at the macroscopic level are the same ones at the microscopic level, and there is a smooth curve at every level, big or small, for relative comparisons.

Let us be clear, folks - If you aren't actively trying to be nice to fellow gamers on this site, you are doing it wrong. If someone has to ask you to leave them be, in all likelihood you have screwed up and should seriously rethink how you've been interacting with people.

If you're curious as to why, I think they made the bard too powerful to satiate the people who want to be more special than everyone else. I.e, the "I want to be able to be best at everything--fighting, exploration, and magic, so I'll be a bard!" Being able to essentially steal other classes spells is the cherry on top in this regard.

I voted a while ago, but my top 3 classes that I think are best for how they are designed for what I want/expect, it's cleric, druid, and fighter.

You might be right... I'm not one to advocate for that kind of bloat but maybe the Druid needs more spell choices... but probably shouldn't follow the Cleric way of prepping spells if that were the case.
