Heh, for what it is worth, D&D includes reallife traditions about Demons by name.

Asmodeus, is Ashmodai mentioned in the Talmud and elsewhere.

Mammon is Mamon, literally ‘money’, mentioned in the New Testament, which certain Christian traditions understood as a demon.

Beelzabub a reallife demon tradition deriving from the Bible.

And many others.

Succubus is more complicated, but at least some Christian traditions understood this to be a demon.

This there is a lot of biblical influence in D&D.

Gary was a giant sponge. Some if those biblical stories are also great stories in their own right even if you're not a Christian IMHO of course.

You could file the names off boom D&D adventure right there.

Exactly. And if there's a mom who is familiar with that and not with D&D mechanics, her concern might be well-founded under her worldview.
