D&D General The Satanic Panic never really died?

It's not really satanic panic in the classical sense.

More I don't want to buy these books for you and a Bible verse.

It's the same superstitious not-actually-Christian stuff, just with a Bible verse to put a fig leaf on the superstition (much like the KJV Bible intentionally mistranslating poisoner as witch). The same fundamental mindset, which you find all over the world about various things.

Does nobody realize what an AND means ;) this and that is not allowed even if this or that is allowed.
Actually, that's funny. From my own experience fpthere are serious differences in what AND means depending in context and explanations.

You seem to be using what I call the database AND where the statement "A and B" requires both A and B to both be true.

But for non-developers a more conversational AND is more often used as it being fine if EITHER A or B is true.

Have content experts talk directly to database folks and you will see very likely many breakdowns over AND conflicts.

"I need to see cancer records, codes C6 and C7."

Query written by developer then ignores the records with C6 or C7 but not both.

Then duck and cover.

These 'sincerely held religious beliefs' are also why Gay Conversion Therapy camp exist so I'm not sure that's a good enough excuse...

Point is, DnD magic isn't real. Everybody knows that but apparently not that lady. Heck, even when a spell has a verbal or somatic component the book doesn't tell you what it actually is, just that it exists. They could be Nickleback Lyrics for all we know. Meaning that even if you wanted to use DnD as some sort of occult manual, it wouldn't get you far.
Nah, the Devil has far better taste in music than that.

I do. If the child is not immunized against a disease that can maim or kill, because the parents make that choice, and that child is later maimed or killed by that illness, the parents should be imprisoned. I don't care what the parents' reasons are.

Very slippery slope when we criminalize things we think people ought to know when they have an authority figure that’s backing up their position

Getting the basic shots (relevant to your region!) is a must, of course. Otoh things like pig flu shots did work out to be one big ?hoax? and did cause many side effects causing severe illness.

Flue shots in general are a bit questionable since these viruses mutate very much.

I understand your anger about parents not getting immunization for their children. But if a child dies or gets an illness because of a shot gone wrong, a thing luckily occurring very rarely, what then? Are the doctors to be jailed or the parents who decided to have the child getting the shot or both or the pharma industry or the whole hospital?

There is a difference in intended crime and something happening due to miss- or false information or unlucky circumstances. There is no absolute security in life and there never will be.

When you have literally 1000x(probably more) more authority figures saying you need vaccination, I don't have any sympathy for people who maim and kill their children.
Maiming and killing their children, yes...I agree that I have very little sympathy for them. That is not what is happening here. This is people who mistrust industry funded authorities.

When the industry funds these authorities, one should take pause when they recognize that that very same industry paid "authorities" to doctor studies on their products, and then later it was discovered that these products were killing thousands of people. It is healthy to look at these authorities with skepticism, especially when you cannot go through normal channels to sue these authorities when you have a bad reaction.

And before you start pointing fingers, my son was permanently disabled by this industry. Yes, I went through the dog-and-pony show of the NVICP, and yes, he was compensated. They aren't killing and maiming their children, they are worried about an industry that has little accountability for their product. There is a HUGE difference.

We started with a person of faith, who was ignorant about role playing games. That was relevant to the site's general mission.

We have gone from there to disparaging religion, to now questioning vaccinations?

We are so done here. Thread closed.
