I am thinking to make this style useable with a light spear as well as rapiers and such.

I think most powers that have weapon type restrictions are a bit dubious. You could always imagine some other weapon working with them. Of course some of it is intended to create reasons to use specific weapons... Anyway, spears never quite got the love that swords and axes got. I really want to see a lot more good stuff for things like flails, picks, etc.

I am a big spear fan myself originally from Cuh Cuhlainne and Wotan and Lugh Lamfada but also more recently from Moribito

An interesting bit that last fight... she is wielding the spear of peace i think the name is? and with it though it appears she killed him it actually pacified him he becomes a farmer or something afterwards and forgets the motivations he had that made him dangerous and an enemy...

She is also a defender in personality and a bodyguard so building her as a light armored fighter could work well.
