You could do both and have the half and full caster variant just be two different kinds of Duskblade. That said, I'd agree that the EK is the chassis that most resembles the Duskblade as-is. The Bard variant matches up better with the current elven Bladesinger though, so there's merit on both sides.

The EK version being the more Martial, and the Bard version being the Magical.

I like that a lot.

Add in the combat superiority dice UA class variant to the EK and it's killer!

An interesting idea, that the humans just can't get it quite right and can't balance the combat with the magic as the elves can, so they lean one way or the other, either more fight/less magic or more magic/less fight.

I'd probably lean to Sword Bard vs. Valor Bard given that concept since they get their swords as a spellcasting focus and... blade-singing ;)

I'll probably use all three versions as subclass variants.

I know that I'm gonna have a Female Human EK Duskblade who is nicknamed "The Full Metal Nightingale"

Decisions decisions.

DON'T give me an excuse to reskin the Monk....again.

All jokes aside, I don't see how Monk even "re-skinned" can fit in the Duskblade skin. Duskblade is thematically depicted as an armored sword & board wizard combat wizard.

Monk would not fit in there very well IMO
