D&D 5E REALLY REALLY BAD DM ADVICE

Put no thought whatsoever into names. Always make them up on the fly. It's perfectly fine if every NPC is named Bob and are residents of Bobtown.

Especially, if you're using a published AP, and English isn't the native language of your group, keep the NPC name as-is.It's their name, who are you to change them? Nobody will cringe, at all. Bonus point if, for an added touch of exoticism, the author chose to give NPCs from one of the fantasy nations names that he finds evocative of your native language, despite never having been on the same hemisphere.
(OK, it's QUITE specific an advice, but I am sure some people here can relate...)

Never be afraid to go ahead and just telling players what their characters say, do, and think. It really helps set up your cut scenes and generally keeps them where they belong on the track.

I mean, don't have to go that far, but there is never anything wrong with certain cutscenes.
