Pathfinder 2E Release Day Second Edition Amazon Sales Rank

It’s rank at Amazon has recently risen and I think that’s rare for RPGs.

Paizo probably knows this well, but they need to put their chits on their loyal fan base. Delight and thrill them. Find ways to reward them for running public games and spreading the play. Imho for BOTH PF1 and PF2. If they can.
I don't know if that is really true. We just see the wild swings in the 2000+ numbers.
In terms of meatspace enthusiasm, I still don't see it.
The game is young and we have been here before.

As to delighting BOTH PF1 and PF2 fans, it is an interesting thought. But they would need to continue supporting PF for that to have a chance. And, frankly, just because I'm a big fan of PF doesn't mean others will support any one bit more than the words of the PF2E niche players foretell growth. PF has been out a long time and there are good reasons for players to want something newer. Producing pocketbooks is a minimal cost effort and probably is comparable to putting an old sitcom in syndication. Nobody gets wealthy, but the money keeps trickling in.

Driving PF beyond that isn't likely to be a good investment.

Who knows? Maybe over the next four more years the 3E/4E/5E pattern continues and PF3E is awesome at GenCon 2024. :)

I crit!
Also it looks like the pocket book is the Third highest selling rpg on Amazon after D&D and PF2. Like I’ve said before, a fantastic position for ANY other RPG

Does anyone know how Call of Cthulhu is doing? Because that's getting a bit more visibility at the moment and the comparison would be interesting to Pathfinder 2.

Cheers!

Keeper's Rulebook is on #9,974. So still a bit behind PF2. Not sure how many books go through Amazon, though (but I guess the same can be said for PF2).
The system is quite popular here in Germany, though. My perception is that it probably has more players than PF2 (but less than D&D or The Dark Eye).

And after a solid week in the 2000s, it's finally broken the 2000 ceiling (with the PF2 CRB at #1984, and the PF2 Bestiary at #8892). No idea why.
I've been using FREE Amazon Sales Estimator - Predict Your Sales | Rank Calculator to look at what the ranks mean. It surprising sometimes how big and how little a jump from its low of #6200 to a recent high of 1900 is. That's a 20% increase in monthly sales, if it continues. That's significant for a typically low margin industry. However, that is only 90 exrta books per month, if the calculator is correct.

For reference, 5th ed PHB at #30 earlier today is almost double that number of books per month, although this is also a recent high and probably won't last.

Wow. That is surprising.

That sales estimator also makes me look at the PF2 Bestiary numbers in a different light. According to the sales estimator, for every 5 PF2 CRB sales there are about 4 PF2 Bestiary sales. So the PF2 Bestiary is selling almost as well as the PF2 CRB.
