D&D 5E Exploring Eberron Cover

Keith Baker has shared the cover (by Thomas Bourden) of his upcoming Exploring Eberron, which will be available in PDF and hardcover on the DMs Guild.

(I know he's posted it before, but this is a nice rendering of the hardcover).

So is this essentially "deep Eberron?" Meaning, stuff that didn'tfit into the campaign book for whatever reason?

Either way, seems like a nice product.

Correct. This is the sort of stuff you'd get in splatbooks on Sarlona and Xen'drik, cultural histories of Aerenal and additional subraces, subclasses, feats, etc. It's Keith's Eberron, and every thing we see from it on his blog is pure gold.

35% ?! Holy cow, 35% for a shop platform and some storage? My, I should have stayed web developer.

You're not considering overhead. They have to pay for website design and upkeep, they have to pay for hosting, they have to pay website staff to keep it all running and moderate comments, they have to pay customer support staff to handle customer problems, they have to pay accountants to keep the books and make sure everyone's getting paid properly. And that's just what a non-expert like me can name off the top of his head. Running a business is expensive.

Yeah I know, I had a gaming portal for 12 years and I had pretty much everything you have listed...

And support.

Support is the #1 reason I am MUCH happier being someone's employee as a web developer than freelance my own business. I only did a couple projects freelance and, my goodness, did I ever regret that.

Not to mention, that's like saying Barnes & Noble makes a comparable percentage for just having 4 walls, a ceiling, and some shelves! ;)

(Oh, and don't forget DTRPG had the foresight to start this business 20 years ago to become the top of this niche.)

Well done, Keith Baker, the original creator keeping active with the Eberron alongside the owners, Wizards of the Coast, a Hasbro division.

Now to get that pre-order sorted for the dead wood copy.
