D&D 5E D&D Mythic Odysseys of Theros Previews!

Mythic Odysseys of Theros may have been delayed until the end of July for most of us, but Fantasy Grounds has revealed some (undoubtedly specially approved) previews for us to look at in the meantime!

So, I checked around, due to the recent controversy:

- Mike Mearls was still credited as a designer in Descent into Avernus and Eberron Rising from the Last War. But in Wildemount and now here, Mearls is credited for "IP Development" in the marketing and brand management section of the credits.

- This is the first book with Ray Winninger as the Executive Producer.

Is it next month the digital versions will show up? I have it preordered on DnDBeyond and will likely get the physical copy eventually once it becomes available. I'm looking forward to it, Theros is one of my favourite MtG settings, likely due to my love of Greek mythology.

The original release date, yup.

Ugg... looking through the credits [REDACTED] is involved. I'd hoped they'd left the industry for good.

I'm a left leaning person and agree with 99.95% of their views and politics but have had nothing but negative interactions with them online. They're a really ugly, negative person that doesn't hesitate to brigade anyone they even thinks is [acting contrary to their views].
They really not the kind of person I want representing D&D.

Sure it's the same Jessica Price...?

Loving the monster and magic item previews - looks like lots of them will be easily usable in any game, or if a DM wants to give an area a Greek feel. I'm not terribly familiar with the setting, but it looks like most of those deities could (presumably with some tinkering) be fairly easily converted back to their original Greek inspirations, as I'm seeing some fairly familiar spheres of influence there...

I feel your pain, but...people are imperfect. If you wish to de-platform her for her views and/or actions, then you enact the kind of behavior that you have a problem with in her. One of the unforrtunate outcomes of the times has been the fusion of art/creativity and socio-politics. I'd like to see us tease them apart a bit. The more we judge others and their views, and then transpose that onto their creativity, the more limited our pool of enjoyment becomes. Not to say that there isn't a line, but that it seems to be getting narrower and narrower.

Plenty of artists throughout history have had reprehensible views and habits according to this or that contemporary perspective (meaning, "different than mine"). Perhaps if we, in the context of the art, focus on the art itself, then we won't be so bothered by the other stuff? More specifically, maybe we can fit a wide range of ideologies and perspectives within the broad umbrella of rpg fandom?

Or to put it more simply: not only don't feed the troll, don't be bothered by it. Just enjoy the book, which looks really good.
