They also spoke to WotC, who commented on some of the DM tools -- "The DM Tools chapter also includes rules and suggestions for what are being called "Supernatural Regions." These otherworldly locations include (among others) haunted realms where restless spirits wander freely, the Lovecraftian nightmare of a world beyond the known sphere of existence, or a delightfully horrifying colony of mimics." The Far Realm, which is outside the Great Wheel, is where beholders and illithids come from. They also note that there weren't many Unearthed Arcana subclasses which didn't make it into this book.

Tasha's Cauldron of Everything comes out on November 17th in America, and December 1st in Europe, Asia, and Pacific countries.

Planecaller's Codex? A lesser version of the Codex of the Infinite Planes perhaps? Not that I have a vested interest in such an artifact of course ...

So there's like a "sprinkle" of Psionics in here.....

Does this mean they're testing the waters for a full Psionic book or is Psionics going to get mistreated in D&D again?

Aside from the Raven Queen Patron, all the subclasses that I wanted to be in this book (Wildfire, Rune Knight, and Astral Self) made it in.
The Raven Queen was part of the Xanathar's playtest. Since it didn't make it into that book, it was never really going to make it into this one, especially since they didn't revisit it over the past 18 months of UA articles.

Which one is the Fathomless patron again? The deep lurker/kraken?
Most likely, yes.

So we get the Psi Warrior and the Soulknife, but no "core" psionic class?
Correct. None of the psionic base classes they've done have been received well enough, so they've been experimenting with a subclass-based approach instead.

On a different note, I wonder if the various planar shards will be similar to the dragonshards from Eberron.

Unless that's the role the Aberrant Mind sorcerer is intended to play? If it's anything like the UA it's at least as much creepy-aberration themed as it is psionic themed though.

I confess I'm not hugely excited by much here outside of the subclasses though. 20 pages, >10% of the book, spent on group patrons isn't something i suspect I'd use too much. And most of the (startlingly small number of) spells look like fixes as much as anything, to options like summoning that are very underpowered and rarely used with the current spells.

Doesn't QUITE live up to some of the gold that was in Xanathar's, like the new downtime options and artisan's tools. But I guess there's only so many new subsystems that it's desirable to have floating around. Law of diminishing returns after a while.

I think that's just meant to be another of the psionic-themed subclasses, although as you say, it also had an obvious Far Realm connection in its playtest form as well.

I'm the opposite. I was really disappointed with Xanathar's, but I'm looking forward to this book a lot more. I've liked the subclasses a lot more than I did with the ones in XGE, and I am really looking forward to more magic items and the supernatural regions, puzzles, and whatnot. The mimic colony sounds like a lot of fun (insert evil DM laugh here)!
