D&D 5E It's official, WOTC hates Rangers (Tasha's version of Favored Foe is GARBAGE)

Do I? I don't think so. 5e does fine at providing the experience I want out of it. I've got all the tools I need to make a wilderness trek interesting even in the face of a Ranger's inability to get lost in his favored terrain and all that.
But hey, thanks for telling me what I want...
Just trying to help by offering you alternatives, calm down. I'll also add The One Ring for inspiration.

“Mountain”? Come on, it’s not that much HP, and it’s hardly “free”.
It is a mountain exactly at level 2...why?
Because it is impossible to divide by 3 and round down to the next existing CR... namely 1/2... after that sanity is more or less restored. That was my first fix...
At level 3 the brown bear is much less of an issue.

The other fix I think I would suggest if there is a problem with too many hp would be having the druid receive half the damage the Wildshaped beast took if they leave the form instead of getting all the damage that carried over beyond 0 hp.
Last fix for the ranger if needed: you need to spend your Hit dice to heal the primal beast.
But then you probably need to remove the ability to heal the artificer buddy with mending.

There is a difference between what you are recommending and what @Paul Farquhar said. Their post was obviously an ad hominem, while your response was less of a personal attack, but still comes off as a condescending "go somewhere else and leave us alone" post.
That is a very interesting and bad faith (almost looking for a reason to be mad) interpretation, I've played a lot of systems and 5e is simply not built to support the Ranger or survival games. Hence why I took time out of my day to recommended things he may like.

It's not bad faith to tell you what caused this tangent. I'm not looking for a reason to be mad, I was just stating what happened and why I and others get quite annoyed when people tell us to go play a different game.

If you were genuinely trying to help, that is fine, but in the future I would recommend against telling people to go to a different hobby. It comes off as gatekeeping.
