Yoda has no connection to the knowledge and training that leads to Sith Lord.

And Ashoka has no connection to the knowledge of a Jedi Master. She is not a member of the Jedi tradition and does not adhere to the Jedi Code, so she cant take levels in Jedi Master!

From the rules:

Jedi Masters represent the pinnacle of the Jedi order. They are Jedi who are both strong enough in The Force, and patient enough in life to pass on their skills by teaching a new generation of Jedi. The journey from Padawan Learner to Jedi Master usually takes decades, and many who start upon the path never reach its final destination.

She is not a member of the Jedi Order. Her journey in the Jedi tradition from Padawan Learner ended when she left the order after being offered the rank of Knight. She never reached the 'final destination' of Jedi Master.

Further, a Jedi Knight usually doesn't become a Jedi Master until they train a student to completion.

She hasnt done this either; either be a Knight or train a Padawan to Knighthood.

And most importantly:

During the Rise of the Empire era, the Jedi Council would confer the title of Jedi Master upon those deemed qualified to teach others in the ways of The Force. During the Rebellion era and the New Jedi Order era, Jedi require no such approval; however, they must adhere to the tenets of the Jedi Code to become Jedi Masters.

Ashoka Tano does not adhere to the Jedi Code. She is no longer a member of the Jedi force tradition, and as such she cannot become a Jedi Master, any more than she could become a Sith Lord.

Assaj Ventress cant take any more levels in Sith Apprentice either (once Dooku booted her out of the order) and Maul cant take any more levels in Sith Apprentice or Lord once Sidious booted him out.

Did he actually get booted out though?

He "died" and then went looking for holocrons. Ahsoka could do some thing similar.

But she doesn't want to, not that she can't. A PC in similar situation could if they wanted to.

Sith and Jedi can always be recreated imho.

She's probably not that far off in power to a Jedi master but you can explain that in game rules as well.

Exactly. She can get the same elsewhere (Force secrets etc), barring a few talent tress like the Lightsaber forms talent trees (who is teaching her advanced lightsaber forms at present anyway).

It's no different to 3.5. Im not letting a PC take levels in (for example) the Ruby Knight Vindicator PrC unless they're a member of that Knightly Order, and worship Wee Jas. A PC (or NPC) that left the faith (and renounced their Knighthood) doesnt get to take levels in it.

Yes he did. It's why he refers to himself as just 'Maul' now (dropping the Darth epithet).

Sidious was a little peeved that he was back on the scene and booted him out (killing his brother Savage Opress at the same time), and Maul doesnt speak too highly of Sidious (or the Sith) despite being a Dark side Adept.

He still has his Sith levels of course. He's just not taking any more due to no longer being in the order.

So, don't "usually" become masters until, means that you don't actually have to do that to be a master. Even if she is not a member of the order, she is still trained in the Jedi tradition, so should be able to progress in it.

So we have someone who while she isn't a member of the order, is a member of the tradition, has achieved the rank of Knight, even if she quit before it becoming official, and doesn't need to train anyone to become a master.

Sounds like she could take the levels if she wanted. :p

See previous comment. She probably could but doesn't want to. It's not impossible.

She doesn't even need to look at alternate traditions.

In D6 without a teacher you can self teach just costs you double amount of character points.

He also wanted to train his brother as an apprentice and already had levels in Sith Lord.

He may not use the Darth title but that seems more for others. He was definitely after Sith holocrons.
