D&D General DM with too High Expectations - Advice?

Yeah, its not like the world isn't full of players who've been taught that any sort of push back on a GM's choices makes them "bad players".
I would say that anyone on either side of the DM screen that makes unilateral demands, doesn't listen to input or feedback and has a "my way or the highway" approach is not gaming in good faith.

A DM can make a decision without being rude (and I wonder if there's not more going on behind the scenes in the DM's life we don't know about), the DM has no right to dictate what the entire group is going to do if they're not interested in his proposal. Sounds like the guy is burning bridges.

I disagree and I don't see how you can speak for every player and DM.

Everyone? No. The majority? Unless your claim is that all the complaints that appear in every medium where GM's talk about bad players are somehow outliers, I'm pretty comfortable saying "yes".

On the other hand I don't want to go down that rabbit hole yet again.

The simple answer to that was to not respond. Respond and then doing the "but I don't want to argue about this again" is just fishing for the last word.

Seriously, man.

There are three ways to respond to a post that will go in a direction you don't feel like going:

1. Don't respond at all.
2. Respond simply with "I don't want to go into this again" (which at least has the virtue of indicating to the other poster they're not being ignored).
3. Respond with [reason you disagree] and {indication you don't want to continue].

It may not be intentional, but its really hard not to see that last one as last word fishing, since either of the others would have produced the presumably desired result without doing that.

Its as I put it frequently "If I want a conversation to stop, I just stop; I don't wait for the other poster to do it for me."

Dude, it was a joke.

I disagree with your statement. Jerks will be jerks whichever side of the DM screen your on.

But that's all there is to this discussion. You say you're right, I say I'm right, on and on. So I object to what you said, but it's not like there's much more to say about it. 🤷‍♂️

I realized it was. But it still is an issue I've seen a lot and I think some people are either oblivious to, or, honestly, should be addressed about.

Then what was the point in responding? "I disagree" without further discussion is about as pointless a conversational element as you can get, short of personal attacks, and arguably more pointless than those. It goes nowhere.
