I would say that anyone on either side of the DM screen that makes unilateral demands, doesn't listen to input or feedback and has a "my way or the highway" approach is not gaming in good faith.Yeah, its not like the world isn't full of players who've been taught that any sort of push back on a GM's choices makes them "bad players".
A DM can make a decision without being rude (and I wonder if there's not more going on behind the scenes in the DM's life we don't know about), the DM has no right to dictate what the entire group is going to do if they're not interested in his proposal. Sounds like the guy is burning bridges.
