D&D 5E 20th level Sorcerer vs the world

The Sim uses Dimention Door, useless.

He can't counterspell a subtle counterspell.
You really haven't been paying attention, have you?

The Sim hasn't gone, yet, and it still has a 9th-level slot.

As I said, this ought to be something.

I mean, really this whole thing is an exercise in what "unbeatable" and "god-tier" builds end up being all about: demanding that you get lots of really improbable, bizarrely stretched rulings to go your way. As soon as you get a DM who rules that no, nat-20 doesn't auto-succeed a skill check, or that yes, surprised monsters do get to roll initiative, or that no, this spell does not give you a loophole to ignore the charmed condition, or no, you can't make a Persuasion check as a Reaction to convince the entire Plane of Fire to join your army, it all goes to hell. You end up seeing that the person doesn't really even know how to face a well-rested Champion with a decent magical longbow and a healthy diet.

"Unbeatable" builds that are ... anything but, and poorly handled/run.

As someone said, it's a comedy of errors. I suspect it's part of why the wizard is ... behaving the way he is (though I could be wrong).
