An open-world game is one like the Grand Theft Auto series, where the player is free to roam across the world. Other examples include Fallout, Assassin's Creed, and more.

Gaming is fun, and fun is for everyone
Huh, that seems like a big deal. At first I was a little concerned that it is using Epic's Engine, and then I released games like Final Fantasy 7 Remake use it, so clearly that doesn't mean much nowadays...

Like others have said, it's big budget. But there's no "A" or "AA" so it's basically meaningless.
Not entirely true. IMO AA comes up quite a bit for titles with budgets that are still considerable, but significantly below those of top-ranking titles (e.g. the things from Focus Interactive or a lot of the stuff published by THQ Nordic). I have never heard someone use A, so there I agree.

I'm a bit confused, though, as none of the titles Hidden Path lists on their page are among those I would consider AAA.

Warpiglet-7

Cry havoc! And let slip the pigs of war!
Intriguing...would love a more populated world than Skyrim-type game for the new Xbox series x. D&D monsters tm? I think that would be neat

The Unreal engine in all it's iterations has been an excellent game engine. The current version is visually outstanding, well supported, and can manage impressive scenes / numerous models with, basically, photo realism. It's been used by numerous games from indie titles to "AAA" ones. It's the engine behind the tech used by Disney for the Mandalorian. I couldn't pick a better engine although there are a number of good ones out there.
