Had a better chance to read through it, I like the addition of more animal folk, I think hobgoblin needs to be renamed since we already have a hobgoblin which isn't like this at all but I otherwise like the mechanics of the race. They've also given them a different kind of fey ancestry which improves their chances of shaking off the charmed condition instead of just the initial save which I like.

I sometimes think the team tries too hard to come up with names for something, though I now know what leporine means, they probably could have just called it keen senses. Not too keen on the randomness of rabbit hop, I'd probably have just granted them an extra 5 feet of movement and jump distance.

My thoughts, for whenever the survey comes out:

Fairy: Their walking speed should by 20 or 25 feet--they may be Small, but their ability to squeeze though 1" spaces suggests they are closer to Tiny instead--and their flight can be 25 or 30 feet. Fairies should also have Fey Ancestry.

Hobgoblins: I'm not entirely sure why they have Fey Ancestry and Fairies don't, but it does help to differentiate them from their standard kin.

Owlfolk: They should also have a reduced walking speed, although maybe just to 25 feet. I wonder if they're supposed to involke the Hsiao from Mystara--which makes me wonder if they should have hands. I guess they'd be too hard to play without hands, though.

Rabbitfolk: I'm with everyone on the too-complex jump. They should just double their jumping distance. Also maybe give them advantage on Perception checks that rely on smell instead of auto-proficiency.

The jumping rules are a bit wonky in the core game. You can jump but the amount you can jump can't exceed your speed, so the rabbitfolk hop is meant to get around this and gain a bit of a boost. A random boost it seems, which when rounded down on the tabletop does make it 0', 5', or 10' hop. Still could be useful, and it is free as long as you can move.

Yeah, I'm thinking they need to change the name. Although I'm not sure to what, since hobgoblin does have fairy-tale usage. Maybe just hob? It wouldn't be the first time that D&D used some minor variations of a word to denote entirely different creatures.
Well it definitely shouldn't be Hobgoblyn, based on what Goblyns are in Ravenloft...
