D&D 5E Look at all this Draconic Fizban art!

Here's a bunch of art from Fizban's Treasury of Dragons! Fizban himself has a new look from Nikki Dawes, and there's a gorgeous spread of the full wraparound cover art by Chris Rahn.

I'm loving the art shown so far, though the Dragonborns.....

I don't know how to describe it. I seem to both really like them and really hate them at the same time. Weird.

I had the same reaction. I really like art, I think it's well done, but it just looks super weird to me and kind of off-putting. They don't look like dragons, especially the Amethyst Dragonborn with its weird tendril-"hair". I will say, the Sapphire Dragonborn in that picture is easily my favorite of the three. However, it still doesn't scream "draconic" to me, and more says, "blue alien with weird-hovering-tendril-horns and four-fingered hands with claws and pointed teeth".

Also, where are their tails!?!? Come on WotC! Be consistent, please! Dragonborn started having tails in Tasha's Cauldron of Everything, but now they don't anymore (from the looks of this art)? Just pick an art direction and stick with it, please!

I don't see that this picture shows that they don't have tails. Dragonborn in the Magic Set all clearly have tails, and the Magic artists reported that is what the D&D are guide told them now.

To be fair, the tendril-hair isn't new to dragonborns, in fact this was the standard in 4e (a few pieces 5e pieces of art showcase these tendrils as well).

However, I feel the tendrils fit the "normal" dragonborn, or more accurately put the dragonborn who's physical appearance doesn't strongly match to any of the true dragons.

I would like to see Dragonborns with tails in official 5e art outside of Wildemount too though (Crystal Dragonborns with two tails sounds dope),
