D&D 5E Why do people think elven accuracy is so great?

Crit fishing. Your chance for a crit goes from 5% on a d20, to 9.75% on 2d20, and 14.2626% on 3d20. If you have a build with lots of crit bonus damage, Elven Accuracy is a good feat. Paladins can definitely benefit here due to smite mechanics. Rogues, obviously. Spellcasters with ray spells or riders can benefit as well.
This. Even better if you can crit on 19-20. What are the % if i may ask ?

Odds of a crit on 19-20:

1d20: 10.0%
2d20: 19.0%
3d20: 27.1%

And for dual-wielding rogues you can hold off on sneak attack if your mainhand doesn't crit and try again with your offhand. Every now and then you'll miss with the 2nd attack and regret it, but averaged over the long term it's smart play. It gives you a 47% chance to land a crit sneak attack (modified down by the chance of the second attack missing).

Um, no, it gives a 9.75% chance, same as 2 d20's rolls for advantage. You either get a crit on the first die (and don't care about the second) for 5% chance plus a non-crit on the first die (95%) and a crit on the second (5%) or 4.75%. Added together, it's 9.75% chance to land a sneak attack crit, nowhere near 47%.

ETA: Wait, are you talking about TWF with elven accuracy and advantage? That's a 14.26% chance on the first, so a 85.74% chance to not crit times the same 14.26% chance, or another 12.22% for a total of a 26.48% to crit with TWF and elven accuracy. Still not 47%.

I was computing tri-vantage plus dual wield plus expanded crit range. (And I didn’t verify the 27.1 from the previous post but it seems about right).

Unless you roll abilitles, bladesinger should not have an odd dexterity (or intelligence). Bladesingers more than any other subclass need to take ASIs and if they have a spare feat it needs to be lucky to counter crits against them.
Interesting. I played low level bladesinger that took Mobile at level 4 that worked out well. With 16s in both Dex and Int I was fairly effective in attack and spells, and Mobility helped me work as a skirmisher to largely stay out of melee. Booming Blade with Flaming Sphere worked really well. I have no idea how well this would work at higher levels though.
