JustinCase

the magical equivalent to the number zero
As the giant hyena leaps at him, Helgrim ducks and tries to slash at the creature's vulnerable belly. It is surprisingly fast, however, and his axe misses by mere inches.

"Bwah, ye're only delayin' the inevitable," he taunts, not letting the worg-sized beast catch his breath but continuing his assault. By now the dwarf knows how his opponent moves, and instead of where he first expected the hyena to be, he now aims for a bit further away.

His tactics so adjusted, Helgrim grins in satisfaction as his first swing connects with the massive head, and the second one splits into the skull deeper. The eyes roll back into his head, and with a thump the monster falls to the ground, dead.

OOC: Using my Reaction on the Worg's turn to make a Riposte attack (triggered by it missing Helgrim):
1D20+7 = [4]+7 = 11 (miss)
1D8+6 = [4]+6 = 10 damage
Superiority die: 1D8 = [1] = 1 extra damage

Action: Attack with Extra Attack
1D20+7 = [10]+7 = 17 (hit)
1D8+6 = [6]+6 = 12 damage
1D20+7 = [16]+7 = 23 (hit)
1D8+6 = [3]+6 = 9 damage

I think I killed it. :)

OOC:
@JustinCase, you forgot the bless bonus, it might hit if you roll well, I intended to kill W1 and move to W2 to help, but the rolls were terrible

Lunn pulls the axe out with some effort from the monstrous thing and moves to help Tommi who once again got too close to the action. Although he seems to be fine at the moment while Helgrim struggles. But Lunn met Tommi at lord Floshins estate which makes him an ally of long(er) standing.

He swung at the warg harrying the boy, but his double swing is spoiled by double impacts of the arrows from the new arrivals.

Move: T14
Action:
Attack vs W1; damage: 1D20+6 = [3]+6 = 9
1D8+3+2 = [2]+3+2 = 7
Attack 2 vs W1; damage: 1D20+6 = [4]+6 = 10
1D8+3+2 = [4]+3+2 = 9
Move: S13, just in case rogue can do something with flank situation (and maybe take cover from the arrows :) )

Thanks! :) Won't the change the end result, but I'll roll:
1D4 = [2] = 2
1D4 = [2] = 2
1D4 = [1] = 1

So my attack rolls are 13, 19 and 24. That Riposte attack hit after all, but the other attacks are still needed to kill the worg.
Not quite. You kill it with your second attack and the third can then kill the other worg. Now I'm sorry I attacked :) Unless @FitzTheRuke allows for you killing it before Lunn started.

But the only difference would be him taking cover instead of attacking (move to T9 or thereabout)

Escella Bok
AC 14; HP 7/33; HD 1/1d8 2/5d6 PP18 SSdc 13 Slots 4/4 1/3 2/2 SP 5/5

Escella launches two eldritch blasts at gnoll3. "Perhaps we should retreat back across the river?" Escella calls out. She backs up 20 feet.

OOC: I don't think gnoll3 has more than 3/4 cover from Escella and thus, with spell sniper, gnoll3 has no cover from Escella. Sorry about backing up off the map, but she wants to keep more than 120 feet between her and the gnolls. She's already been a pin cushion this combat. 20 feet means they are 180 ft from her.
EB at gnoll3: 1D20+8 = [7]+8 = 15
1D10+3 = [8]+3 = 11
1D20+8 = [13]+8 = 21
1D10+3 = [10]+3 = 13

Legend
Helgrim cut down the hyena-worg while Escella's blasts flashed over the north group's heads. She was satisfied to see her blast strike down a gnoll archer, as the others spread out to find spots to hunker down and fire on her allies.

Again, arrows rained down on Vairar as he struggled to cross the raging flow, and again he was able to keep his shield above him, arrows thumping into it. A stray arrow struck Helgrim as the dwarf hefted his axe to join Lunn across the road.

The other hyena snapped at Lunn as the big half-orc fended it off with his axe.

OOC: Helgrim killed Worg2 but took an arrow for 8. Lunn & Worg1 missed each other. Escella killed Gnoll3.

The warg was still on top of him, and so Tommi again stabbed it with Gutter. The rusty blade slices cleanly through the meat of the creature's throat.

As the creature falls, Tommi runs north and hides in the next bush, again seemingly blending into the foliage perfectly.

OOC: Attack Warg1: 1d20+6+bless=22 (with advantage). Damage=4d6+3=19. Kills it.
Move 30'north (to R11, with a little skirting around the tree?)
Bonus: Hide: 1d20+8=28. Second stealth crit in a row.

Stones left: 0/3. (dropped). HP 33/39.

Lionel had been so annoyed missing the gnoll earlier so he had spent the previous round improving his hiding spot and adjusting some twigs for better aim. Satisfied with his progress, he looked up at the battle but it looked as if it was almost over. Then he heard more yipping across the river and more gnolls appeared from behind some trees. It was hard to tell due to the distance but Lionel thought he saw an opening on one of the gnolls and took careful aim. The distance was far but he felt he could try anyway. The bolt fell a few feet short of the gnoll.
Cheese and whiskers!!! What's wrong with my aim?!?

Sorry for being absent for some time.

Round 3
Action: rearranging the hiding spot
Move: O32
Bonus Action: Cunning Action (Hide) stealth check for hiding: 1D20+4 = [19]+4 = 23. That is probably sufficiently hidden and would let Lionel gain advantage.

Round 4
Bonus Action: insightful Fighting check: 1D20+7 = [7]+7 = 14. To be contested by gnoll3's Charisma (deception) check.
Action: Disadvantage due to distance and advantage on hiding, cancels out. Crossbow attack, with damage and sneak attack: 1D20+7 = [3]+7 = 10
1D8+4+3D6 = [8]+4+[3, 4, 2] = 21
. After all that, it was a miss anyway. 😆
Move: stay put

Legend
Lionel wasn't having a good time of it. He had been worried about crossing the river - watching one as big as Lunn Dornuk or as tough as Vairar struggle with it - and he just knew that it would be up to his chin. And to do that while being fired upon, well, that would not do. He was distracted when he returned fire and embarrassed by where his quarrel fell. He hid in the bushes hoping that everyone, friend and foe alike, might forget that he was there.

Tommi felt his blade slice the hyena-worg with satisfaction. He pushed forward, but disappeared into the underbrush under a nearby tree.

OOC: Tommi killed Worg1; Lionel missed.
