Prey 2022 [spoilers]

Aeson

I am the mysterious professor.

It's a Hulu Original. A Predator prequel set in 1719. Comanche warriors prove to be a little too much for the big guy. The CGI animals looked awful. I really like Amber Midthunder. I've seen her before. She's the lead and does a great job.

Can someone that has seen it tell me if the men are speaking French? It sounds French, but also sounds kinda like what French might sound like to someone hearing it for the first time. It's that or it's Canadian French.😝

Yes, they spoke French, but at least the bearded guy clearly isn't Francophone.

I thought so, but I also thought they tried to make it sound slightly off. Maybe I gave them too much credit. It would have been a nice touch if they altered it to sound different to her.

Which bearded guy? The one that spoke English err Comanche?

Yes, it's French, but I could barely understand one word in 5. That's because our wonderful school system decided that it made perfect sense to teach us kids Parisienne French, instead of the version spoken in literally the next Province over, and that was 40+ years ago ;)

I really enjoyed it. Sure, there was a lot of Uncanny Valley to the CGI animals, but I could ignore it because the movie was otherwise so good. Finally, there was a prey who won out by using her brain, instead of being mostly a meat wall.

Just started watching it just now on Disney+. Looks good so far! They better not kill that dog. Or we’ll have to have words.

I won't spoil the dog's fate.

Disney+? I guess that makes sense. Disney owns 20th Century Fox. I think it also has a major stake in Hulu with its ownership of both Fox and ABC.
