D&D 5E Being strong and skilled is a magic of its own or, how I learned to stop worrying and love anime fightin' magic

And casters are often specials as well. Casters are often of special bloodlines in some settings or needed to be born under certain conditions.
part of their specials simply need to be incorporated with their casting ability.... story wise the mundane caster is only casting rituals this is the how Elric of Melnibone stories showed extraordinary casters. The man who can cast a daily is awesome when everyone else is taking hours to cast spells.

This.

Also, as a former teacher for Korean kindergartners and having seen many of them reach university age, there are a significant number of prodigies who do blossom later in life. One little five-year-old delighted in climbing statues and jumping off the same on field trips.

Too bad that I was too old to have the savvy to take a cell phone video.

Ah, yet another "Fighters suck" thread.
you act as if you don't like them... but I am yet to find one you are not engaged in..
I like playing martial characters who explicitly do not rely on supernatural abilities. There are already plenty of options for supernatural warriors.
100% agree I want martial exploits not magic runes or spells or time displaced selves.
One of the things I grew to dislike in 4e was that until Essentials (which we never really used) there was no option to play what felt to me like a straight martial character.
this is what I LOVED about 4e... my 3 warlords 2 fighters (only 1 from essentials, a slayer) and my Rogue did not have a single spell or supernatural ability... just trained martial prowess that was as awesome a caster
The power level some people want from the hypothetical mythical warrior (and how would you differentiate them from other classes/subclasses?) is not something that I think fits D&D's style of play. How do you balance out someone that has godlike abilities?
how do you balance bringing the dead back, unbreakable walls of force, and sominateing the mind of an enemy.... How do you balance teleporting and plane shifting.... just do it that way
In any case, if you want changes pay attention to the UA articles coming out when they get to classes. Let your opinion be known. I know I will be.
