Back in the 1980s (if this is the right OHTHMU) only 800 pounds, but 30 mph is pretty darn good. Google says around 1200 lbs now. But they often don't specify what they mean by lift.

Well, 1200 lbs. also not specifying what "lift" is (but given moves in comics, I would guess overhead) is feasible for Powerful Build with STR 20 in D&D already, at 1st level.

So, some races already have it, and allowing Powerful Build via a feat or class feature would be possible.

Is that enough for the people who want martials to rival casters? Probably not.

What guidebooks say a character can do, and what they actually do in practice, are quite different things in my experience.

I think some people want to play a supers game. For people that want to play D&D I generally suggest things like Moruss's level up if you want a more tactical game. Of course you could just play one of the dozen or so warrior classes and subtypes that do have supernatural abilities. There's hardly a lack of options.

My biggest suggestion is to provide feedback for the 2024 edition revisions. Prove me wrong by convincing WOTC that the fighter needs to be completely revised.

Well I dont think surpassing BA is supposed to happen. I suppose, breaking out of it is how you achieve a super high power characters, but im more curious what one inside BA looks like?

At least for me, the only correct response to BA would be to treat it like Bane treats a Bat.

10-foot standing jump is NOT typical, even for football players. Don't get me wrong, I know a lot of them, especially college/pros can do it, but they are the exception, not the rule.

Its normal/average for college/pros I actually looked it up a little while back not an anecdote (I might have looked up pros) ... but I wasn't talking high school I was talking adults for whom their chosen profession was ahem athletics (str).

This is why I've said.. now years ago... that martials should be able to choice which path of power they go.

Think of it like the Avengers.

Do they hyperfocus on one weapon like Hawkeye to bypass Bounded Accuracy...
Or they hyperfocus on one armor like Black Panther to surpass BA or are they versatile at multiple weapons to be flexible like Gamora?
Are they enhanced by a special potion like Captain America with replaces their physical weakness or are they alright mighty and attract a special weapon that gives them secondary magic power like Thor.

There's a huge gap in power level you're glossing over.

The image of someone basically swinging a sofa (that's trying to fight back) around like they would a club kind of flummoxed me. If it's just grappling and either pushing him over or flipping him onto some people, that seems very different.

A sofa? Try picking up a live Clydesdale. I don't want that kind of silliness in my game.

Well I think demi-god is generally the my thought.

D&D had a hammer that returned and girdles of giant strength, gauntlets of ogre power and basically a panorama of look the DM made my fighter Thor gear.

If you can dig up the source I'd like to see it, but in my research it still isn't normal or average, even at the college/pro level. I'll agree it isn't far off, however.

But again, the issue is with the rules, not STR 20. Athletics has no play in how far you can jump, other than the DM might allow a check to exceed your normal distance, but never specifies how much or anything.

Well I was thinking more like Hawkeye has Archery Fighting style. And since he's between level 9-12 in my head, he also have Improved Archery which bonus this a bonus to hit with ranged weapons to +4 and knows 2-4 trick shots.

Whereas the Black Panther like fighter has +4 to AC and various defensive benefits.
