D&D General It's Time For D&D Lego!

Lego Ideas has announced a Dungeons & Dragon challenge. The contest is timed to coincide with D&D 50th anniversary, and allows fans to submit LEGO builds. The winning entry later becomes official LEGO sets, with the winner getting 1% of the total net sales of the product. https://ideas.lego.com/blogs/a4ae09b6-0d4c-4307-9da8-3ee9f3d368d6/post/e080b760-93c0-410d-bd49-5fc32726de9c Previous...

Previous LEGO IDEAS sets have included the themed sets like PIrates, Castles, or Space, plus specific brands like The Rolling Stones, Star Wars, Harry Potter, and more.

LEGO could sell packs of a couple of figures with a monster (ally/pet) and a dungeon trap.

And the packs of the dungeons, with (hidden) traps, secret doors and the walls.

If there is a D&D LEGO videogame, I suggest to add the option of the mode virtual tabletop.

In my childhood LEGO hadn't arrived yet. In my house there were playmobils, a Spanish-brand builing toys: TENTE and "Exin Castillos". (you could search it in internet, at least to see the pictures).

Interesting,

Either I've misjudged your age or LEGO came late to Spain (which is surprising since LEGO is a European company) but here (Canada) kids have been playing with LEGO since the mid-60s at least.

As for your first point; I'm sure their minifig series in 2024 will include, if not wholly dedicated to, D&D minifigs and monsters, and their accessories.

And here is the thing, I get a bit depressed, because I cannot afford this, a working adult, and many kids will struggle from lower income families. Toys are so expensive now though really good quality.
That one's a set for Collector. If you want an Optimus Prime there's usually one new version a year. And they brought back the Core Class Optimus for Legacy Core Class wave 2.
You know, Lego already has rat pieces. They could just give us a tavern basement with stairs leading down and several dozen rats and call it "the First Adventure."
I was thinking they could do "You meet in a tavern" and have 1 mini-fig for every class.

A dungeon corridor could be nice too. Like a scene from the side.

When first scanning the title I read "It's time for D&D legal!" and inwardly groaned wondering what NuTSR had been up to now..

If there is one thing TLG hasn't really done yet is a proper diorama set-up. Kits are usually comprised of a central element, one or two smaller decor elements, and a handful of minifigs, but I can't think of any official LEGO products with a brick-built, decorate base plate depicting a scene. The Christmas village stuff comes close but are still free-standing

They have three Star Wars Diorama now.

And I think the Question Block sorta counts

I was thinking like a dungeon corridor with a trap or two, a door at the end and midway through another corridor going to the side where monsters would hide in waiting.

I stand corrected.

Worst is that I knew of all these sets!

Lego 4-side dices? That would be really criminal, too cruel even for the thiefs from the movies "Alone at home".

Now I am thinking about LEGO D&D videogames could allow more creative freedom, and we shouldn't worry about the official canon, for example a LEGO Birthright where players have to manage a survivor camp, later a stronghold and after ruling a realm or a trade company.

* What is more expensive for your tabletop, a LEGO minifigure, or the same character as miniature?

* If there is a LEGO Overwatch where characters are using "modern firearms", why not a LEGO Gamma World with animal-headed mutants? Or a LEGO Battle-Beasts.

* One day you are asking in the toy shop if the LEGO D&D packs has arrived and when you realised, in the cinemas a trailer of a comingsoon movie appears: LEGO Ravenloft.
