D&D General what is the worst race in dnd?

I DID play a Shardmind Battlemind! Or was that a Battleshard MindMind?



Much like the plasmoids are now, and how Tieflings and Dragonborn have become, with a large amount of variety to the artwork (colours, markings, horn-size, etc), the Shardmind (that badly needs a different name) ought to be a wide variety of crystal-like people, rather than an ugly red spikey rock-thing. Had it been so, it might have been more popular. They could bring it back that way, but it was widely known to be the absolute least popular 4e race, so I doubt we'll see it ever again.

Wait, Shardminds were less popular than Bladelings? Color me surprised!

Raptorians are bad, but I'd also like to do a callout for Jerren. One of the two races from the Book of Vile Darkness, they're just evil halflings. Which apparently makes them their own stand-alone thing

Man, I forgot about Jerren. Yeah,they were dumb.

But, yeah, I'm going to vote for gully dwarves.

Yep, which seems to have been published in 1996 so deep into the "just publish whatever novel, we desperately need the cash" phase of TSR's death spiral.

There's nothing really wrong with the basic concept - a psychic crystalline humaniod. But the execution was not the most imaginative.

The saddest part was this was an opportunity to make a Kalashar core, thus adding an interesting Human to the core game.

We're talking about 4e, everything was core, including Kalashtar. I certainly played with a Kalashtar Ardent in Living Forgotten Realms more than once.

I didnt mind Killoren, even if they were just another elf but green - they filled the fey plant-people niche which is reasonably popular.

I remember ignoring Bladelings and dismissing them as a stupid imp thing rather than a race…

Yeah, I saw Kalashtar in play regularly in 4e.
