WotC Hasbro slapped by bank of america for destroying customer goodwill

Maybe they should buy WotC then.
Nah, they downgraded their stock. Told people not to buy it. Anyway, if they were closer they wouldn't have that distance - instead they'd have their own fiduciary responsibility front and center to try to monetize them.

Pure speculation, no evidence of that.
I said it was speculation. But the timing is suggestive. WotC ignore the OGL for 20 years, then Alta Fox comes along with his dumb name and brilliant plan to monetarise D&D, and suddenly Hasbro have a brilliant plan to monetarise the OGL.

And frankly, I can see exactly why the OGL looked like a major untapped revenue stream to a corporate shark.

The downgrading of the Hasbro stock price does make it vulnerable to hostile takeover by asset strippers - and it does have a lot of assets to sell off to the highest bidder.

Which would probably lead to D&D being acquired by a major media company (e.g. Disney), especially if the movie is successful. I suspect it's worth more as a media brand than as a game.

You seem to be working under the mistaken assumption that Alta Fox is a person, when in fact it's actually an asset management firm (Alta Fox Capital). I can't say I know much about them, though I've heard that Finkel (the MTG tournament champ) is employed there.

Has anyone yet commented on the very concept of a bank calling anyone else out for destroying good will? Nevermind the Bank of (Screwing over everyone in) America?

I mean, yeah... WotC deserved to the called out for that nonsense. But... a bank? Really?

Edit: I see they have. :p

Nah. Hasbro sells WotC to Mattel and we start getting Barbie, He-Man, and Hot Wheels-themed Magic: The Gathering sets and D&D crossovers. :p

(All of which I'm cool with.)
Hm, now I'm seeing a multi-crossover where Ken draws the Power Sword while driving a Mad Maverick around Faerun.
