Lucas stipulated when he sold the franchise that we will never learn that.
We know that Lucas had some stipulations when he sold the franchise, but has this actually been confirmed as being one of them? Or does it just look that way?

Not editing or reverting Lucas' edits nor releasing earlier versions of the OT has been confirmed as being a Lucas stipulation, or very close to confirmed, by the way various Disney people have responded when asked about that. It seems like there's an NDA re: what exactly the stipulations were.

However, there have been hints dropped (I forget exactly what was said) that it was a lifetime thing, and after Lucas' death, Disney would be able to release the original OT and so on (before Lucas messed with it).

This is one of those memes that hasn't aged well, given how much better Andor is.

andor is great, but Mando is solid just in a different genre style. And if we are talking about viewership, Mando beats andor by a solid margin at this point.

So I would argue the point still stands

Season one of Mando easier to get into than S1 of Andor. Those first 3 episodes were slow.

I mean, it doesn't though, because it barely stood as a point even when Mando was the only live-action show and there were temporarily no animated shows. Now that there are other live-action shows which are better, more animated shows again, it's aged badly as I said. It'll only age worse as time goes on. There was a window were it was a viable claim - ironically it was before he got the Darksaber though!

And like, post-Andor and post-Fett too (which kind of showed the man behind the curtain), Mando is being regarded with a much more critical and less fannish eye even by SW fans. As one person on Twitter said "Fans are finally turning on Mando, this is fascinating". And it's surprisingly consistent. Episode 1 was not well-reviewed even by utterly fannish reviewers who absolutely lapped up previous seasons even when they had bad episodes. There's a ton of damning with faint praise and "Well this wasn't great but it'll surely get better!" too (oh, like Fett did?). It's that Andor/Fett one-two punch. Andor showing you can do better, Fett showing Favreau is kind of terrible.

Reviews aren't "Twitter" dude.

And no, Andor isn't "overrated online" lol. It's what happens when you get actually-good writing in an SW show, and you admittedly dump the "for little kids" angle that a lot of SW has (and some fans consider integral).

Andor like TNG is really good if you ignore the boring bits. It was very slow paced.

And when you only have a few episodes that can be a problem. It got better later on but that start wasn't good.

Mando up to Season 3 now Andors only getting two seasons. It's a lot easier to make good limited series. See all the good British shows that get 2-3 seasons of 6 episodes a season.

Mando had two good seasons see how three plays out. Andors only getting two and we haven't seen the second.

I'm still waiting for series 2 of "Hard Sun." It's only been 5 years now. There's still a chance. Please.
