I was under the impression John Wick 4 was underperforming expectations.

Not sure I'm just looking at its box office vs budget.

It was over double its budget and then some earlier in the week. So it might under perform but unlikely to lose money. Last I looked it was at 220 million on a 100 million budget. D&D comparison 80 million on 150 million budget.

Wow those movies are outstandingly cheap - I'm looking at the budgets now. Stahelski does a hell of a job making them look more expensive than that. I guess sticking to practical effects, keeping the combat mostly between humans rather than vehicles, and mostly guns rather than explosions, and setting it in the modern day with no need for CGI fantasy elements considerably reduces costs!

They don't even hire actors, they just follow Keanu Reeves with a camera while he beats up criminals. The guy is just THAT good.

:p

Yup and they're building it up slowly. JW4 is the most expensive one yet and it's comparatively cheap.

John Wick 4 is no longer in theaters according to Box Office Mojo.
D&D: Honor Among Thieves dropped to 3rd, as Air was also released today.

This is Domestic only.

I refreshed it but yeah. Maybe they haven't reported it yet?
It's rather odd to only not report a single film. It's still available in my area.

But, Mario is going to be like 4000 screens and those screens are probably, mostly, going to come from Wick and Shazam.
I would expect Honor Among Thieves to have the second most screens domestically this weekend.
