Mando season 3

It ventures into the mental "light in the refrigerator" territory. Does the world cease to exist because I'm not conscious to experience it? Whoa, dude. My hands are HUGE. They can touch everything, except themselves. Oh, wait...
There are quite a few episodes (and movies) of Star Trek that are better experienced mentally altered.

The plot of the science fiction book I'm writing is partially driven by AI concluding humans are slavers.... So this is interesting to me

Only because we've agreed, as a society, that we're the same person when we wake up and go to sleep.
Or, indeed, from moment to moment, regardless of sleep. Am I the same person I was five minutes ago?

I always tend to get freaked out by stories and games that include memory alteration and rewriting. Because I remember what it felt like to be myself in my memories, and the concept that such a thing could be a fiction is deeply disturbing.

Is it Wednesday yet? I wanna get back to talking about The Mandalorian.
How many episodes are left this season?

Do we think them retaking Mandalore is something that will be in the show, or are they saving that for the movie that includes these characters? Or will that just be a Thrawn movie?

I mean clearly I didn't, because my stance is that it supports slavery, and this needs to be ignored because there is no satisfying resolution trying to tackle that issue and we should just enjoy our space opera.

It's debatable how sentient droids are or if they're just a program doing its thing.

A very few droids in the old EU were fully sentient and there were fully sentient independent droid races/species. Basically only the mist advanced models that became self aware and could break their programming. R2 probably, C3P0 maybe most of the rest may be glorified talking toasters.

New xanon doesn't go into it much. Rare in legends but there were books that went into it a little bit and a droid liberation front. Memory wipes stop them developing sentience.

Two left. Retaking Mandalore may have to wait. I don’t know if it will be in the movie or not. I suspect the movie will primarily be a showdown with Thrawn.

@trappedslider It is clear to me that droids are 100% slaves in Star Wars and it is super weird and uncomfortable that most of the franchise heroes are totally okay with it. I am a fan of Star Wars in the way that only a kid who was 10 when the first film came out can be a fan of Star Wars, but I have always had to struggle with the cognitive dissonance the franchise's embrace of slavery has produced.

I'll think they'll leave Thrawn out of it for the most part. Looks like they're going with Gideon.

But 2 episodes isn't a lot tobreraje Nandalore. They could do it buy its season 7 GoT result if they do season 8 if they really screw it up.

Filoni’s movie is a Mando/Boba/Ahsoka grand finale. It’s almost certainly going to have Thrawn as the main antagonist.

Agreed that Gideon is the BBEG for the Mandalorian, though.

Exactly. Perhaps we’ll get one more season of the Mandalorian before the movie wraps things up.
