The movie will end up at minimum to be a modest success. If paramount feels there is an opportunity to grow the brand and its recognition then they may make another. Time will tell.

Never-ending quick Google fu. First two 1 made close to double its budget. One made over double its budget. Large gap in time recent one bombed.

D&D is on track to make around 60% of the 1st two GI Joe films.

Basically, it doesn't appear to have legs domestically — it is in the bottom 5-10% of movies, which is not what you want to see.

No you haven’t said it but you keep implying it. Every counter to your expectation goes back to the first weekend or first two weeks and making the budget back in that time. 300 million. So you are essentially making that argument. That it needed 150 million in the first weekend.

175 million is roughly 245 million today. Box office is roughly 425 million. That’s the first GI Joe that Paramount immediately greenlit a sequel to and spent 4 years developing. That one squeaked a profit off of The Rock.
