MCU and Star Wars, as already noted.
And untrue. Those are not for 13-34

Note how 60% of ages 45-54 are casual or avid fans, while only 54% of those 18-29 are casual or avid fans.

31% is not for 13-34. You're still conflating "largest single demographic" for all movie goers which when added up dwarf that 31%

The error is one of typography: the last category was confirmed by Grgo Tito at the time to need a "45+" at the end, as thar grouping includes everyone older than 40 whatsover.

So we're supposed to believe that the category was 40-45+ instead of 40+?

Well, it includes everyone older.

I don't believe the excuse they give. You don't make a 40-45+ category. WotC has a long history of lying to us, the most recently during the "let's destroy the 3pp" fiasco. You can believe them if you want to, but they've done nothing to deserve the benefit of the doubt on stuff that they tell us, so I'm not going to extend it to them.

And I notice how you ignore that the large majority of Star Wars fans are 45+. Despite what the creator has claimed, it's not for 13-34 year olds.

He said that in the 70's, I reckon the oldsters in question were 12 at the time. So, yeah, nostalgia plays a role...but what they are making now is still geared towards the teen scene.

I see no reason to doubt the percentages as presented: it means the older grouping of D&D fans is about 5 million strong, that's a lot in absolute terms even if teens are more numerous.

@Maxperson For some context, per Morrus the age demographics on this very site run younger than WotC numbers, and thisnis Grognardville based on the way we talk, so the WotC seem quite reaspnable based on independent data:

So, the controversial data that everybody on Twitter is talking about -- the age groups. Google Analytics breaks it down a little differently to WotC's figures, so here's what we have. GA doesn't give stats on people under 18 years of age. The figures below are those GA has data on for EN World -- obviously that's only about half of overall users.

Age
Numbers
Percentage
18-24592,401 users24.58%
25-341,309,373 users54.33%
35-44330,755 users13.46%
45-54138,372 users5.74%
55-6426,689 users1.11%
65+12,631 users0.52%

As you can see, the figures aren't as evenly distributed as WotC's. There's a significant number of 25-34 year-olds, and a higher number of 18-24 year-olds. Also, it shows people above the age of 45, who don't appear in WotC's stats

Stop shifting away from what the older players like. Almost every announcement shifts away from something the older players like and towards the very young.
And this is the other answer that we usually get.

"Stop ignoring older gamers!"

"How are they doing that?"

"By shifting away from older gamers!"

When in practice, it seems to be more "They're not doing what I like, and I totally represent all the older gamers.".

I'm pretty sure you don't.

Neither do you. Neither do any of us. No one's opinion can be taken to represent an entire demographic. But I can say that there are multiple older gamers on both sides of this particular divide.
