Mando season 3

I wondered about that, but I wondered even more why Bo didn't use the Darksaber to cut through and have the Mandalorians save Din when he was caught alone out with the Imperials.
Yeah that was pure "idiot ball" writing, where a character is forced to do a dumb thing for dramatic contrivance, even though it's wildly out of character for someone as quick-thinking and determined as Bo-Katan. The fact that it was "idiot ball" was really reinforced when she did exactly that to the other door.
They're in a military base. Surely it doesn't take more than a couple of minutes to whistle up another fire team, with appropriate weapons?
It's not a military base, it's a covert location with limited troops. Their troops got completely annihilated by one man with a repeating blaster. They didn't have anyone else. They definitely didn't have anyone with "appropriate weapons" - except those three Praetorian Guard, which is why they sent them - but they'd have had huge problems against multiple Mandalorians - they had some issues against one.

I mean, what, you think they should have sent in the TIE Interceptor pilots? That's about all they had left lol.

They'd have been just fine standing a couple of feet back, and still had a perfect crossfire on anyone foolish enough to stick a hand through.
You don't need a hand. She just cuts a few more holes. In the mean time the arc from a single hole covers quite a bit of the distance out to the rest of them from behind. They don't need to stick a gun out unless someone is standing close to the wall.

Or hell, the mandos toss a few grenades through the hole. :)

Which is all well and good until that door is opened. Then it's "fish in a barrel."

Yep. Poor imperials all out in the open like that. The imperials already tried fish in the barrel and got their asses whooped. That's why they ran away and closed the door.

They have a whole base to call upon, along with attack vehicles. First response doesn't dictate final response. The Empire is under no obligation to play fair.

That whole base wasn't there and couldn't possibly get there in time. They take out the Moff and his imperials and then cut their way out and leave.

I'm really not sure why you wanted them to be in such a bad way so badly. The mandos were and are better than the imperials and Bo could and should have saved Din. There was no reason other than plot for it to go the way that it did.

Looked like a flex on Gideon's part, to me. He wanted to demonstrate his new toys. When he was done playing with his food he left, and brought in the Imperial Guard to finish up with the one troublesome Mandalorian.
