D&D 5E When Did 5E Peak Quality Wise?

Funny how the absolute most popular version of D&D, by a HUGE margin, and still growing, is getting nothing but "jumped the shark" comments here. You'd think this was 1998 all over again.
Correlation does not equal causation. Critical Role, Stranger Things, Big Bang Theory and more have propelled D&D into the spotlight and mainstreamed it. We don't know that 2e, 3e or 4e wouldn't have done as well or better under the same circumstances, or that the surge with 5e is due to anything other than what I just mentioned. It's a great edition, but so were others that came before it.

Funny how the same people who are looking forward to 2024 WotC D&D think their version of 5e just keeps going up. These are not inconsistent viewpoints, or at least, they don't have to be.

I did say quality not commercial appeal. I noticed the decline around Tashas but it's being noticed more across the interwebs

The adventures have never really been great the best ones are the exceptions.
Really? You've noticed numerous editing errors in, post Tasha's books? Binding is poor? Bad printing?

What, exactly, is the quality that is declining?

Tasha's vastly improved the game overall, and Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft was a bit of high water mark for me.
Given Planescape comes out later this year, I'd say we're not quite there yet but things are currently better than they've ever been.

See, there's your mistake. You think that I think that 5e is going up or down. I don't. 5e hasn't really changed significantly in quality for the entire run. The books are just as good or bad quality wise today as they were in 2014. Not a huge change. Certainly not to the degree that people are claiming here.

if you measure this in typos per page and book bindings, I agree.

I just do not find their new books all that interesting, I do hope this is about to change though. Going by what I was interested in, it was frontloaded up to Tasha's, with Tasha and anything since rarely having any interest for me,
