Wotc invest millions to bring new players to the game,
maybe they should make a dedicated training video to DM, how to welcome new players that just see the movie!

otherwise I ask myself, can my session can be as fun and crazy as the movie?

There's already a thread on wild shaping into an owlbear (consensus was "owlbears are okay but monstrosities in general are case-by-case" if I recall correctly).

Other than that, the movie is pretty darn spot-on, although I'd recommend against letting the dmpc solo an encounter, even if it is just a bunch of mooks.
