Would you play a TTRPG that uses Meters instead of Feet for measurement and distance?

Sure. I'd wager that most American gamers that have played futuristic games have played games that use meters. I can't remember a Sci-Fi TTRPG I've played that hasn't used metric.

It would feel anachronistic in a fantasy game, though.

If it was a modern system or sci-fi then I would.

Otherwise for medieval or fantasy I would much prefer feet. If you want to use meter sized measures for practicality purposes, just use yards.

I've been playing Traveller for a long time. I'm an American.
That was my first thought. And it's sensible for any SF RPG that makes a pretence at "realism" because I'll be ****ed if I want to work with feet/second//second and miles and psi (pounds per square inch not psionics) when I'm trying to keep the game going and not waste time with calculations that are way more complex than they need to be.

I expect all my archery ranges to be measured in rod and rods only.
Sorry to tell you but the Butts in my city (and some others, apparently) were marked out - at least according to the archaeological survey done on them - in Chains.

Of all the reasons I might choose to not play a system, I don’t think the units of measurement would even crack the top ten. Twenty, even.

All versions of D&D (or almost all), Pathfinder, a little bit of Starfinder, Conan Adventures in an Age Undreamed Of (a 2d20 system that uses close, moderate, far as a measurement system), DemonWars Reformation,

Given that background and that youre not familiar with Traveller (which is a long established and influential sci-fi system) I am wondering why you are considering metric, is it purely academic?

Personally I prefer zones (close, mid, far) to describe distance (spatial relationships) so wouldnt go from imperial to metric at all

I've been playing games with metric measures since back in the days of 1st Edition Shadowrun and WEG's d6 Star Wars games.

I forgot WEG's Star Wars was metric. I'll have to go with that as the first game I played using metric. At least until someone else comes along and jogs my memory.
