I don't watch 'lets plays' so someone tell me did he use polymorph as a SoD debuff on enemies or on himself and allies as a buff?
Mostly, it's becoming a giant ape to be a better fighter than a fighter. This classically goes bad because Polymorph is hostilely written to make your character stupid while morphed.

Also turning allies into scouts. This classically goes bad because Polymorph is hostilely written to make your character stupid while morphed.

And to debuff enemies. Which lasts all of 10 seconds because they will immediately take damage and pop.

As bad as casters are, Polymorph isn't the way to illustrate that because 5e Polymorph hates its caster more than I do.

Im reminded of a certain Sean Paul song
Well halfling, the way the wyrm cold, I wanna be keepin' you warm
I got the right temperature fi shelter you from the storm
Oh Kord
Gal I got the metmagics to hold de flank
And girl I
Wanna be the evoka, you can be the tank.
Oh-oh!

Yes I used to to play a reggae singing sorcerer pyro.aniax.

sure if your fighting baddies that don't have 9th level magic as well. But then you need a new DM. At those levels the Baddies have to have all the abilities the party has or the DM has made themselves Obsolete and useless because they refuse to use the tools they were given.
Again this is “cater around the casters”

If you’re playing with a 15th level fighter and 15th level rogue a warrior is fine as an end bad guy.
If you are playing with a 15th level warcleric and 12 level hexblade/3rd level paliden well banishment will end that figh so better give your end bad guy 6th level spells at least.

i don’t think it’s an issue it’s not the best 4th level soell

I mean banishment is just a better save or lose spell and evards is a better control spell
Charm monster and the new summon spells can just give you another fighter.

Ennhh. IIRC Liam was usually pretty good about that stuff. Laura not so much.

Ape was generally more for the HP than attack. I don't actually remember him using it to scout. Think it got used to for him to be a big flying thing for transport quite a bit. As a debuff, I think he was more of a "I turn it into a cow" type of caster than a "I turn it into a kitty cat" type.

Entirely possible I'm misremembering though.

2 feats over 20 levels (1 over 10) action surge and second wind and indomitable. if you are a d8 full caster (bard, cleric, warlock) you are down 1hp per level but 2 at 1st if you are the bladesinger wizard you are d6s so 2hp per level 4 at 1st

for 5th level spells at 10th and 9th level spells at 20th.

and the only one of thse useing the subclass is bladesinger so that is about even.

oh and at best you are up 1 attack for 1 level over first 10 levels and 1 attack for 6 levels and 2 attacks for 3 levels over 20...

why would you get less feats?

dude wish is literaly a game changer
It really isn’t and if you are relying on wish to justify why casters are good then you have bigger problems.

wish is the biggest baddest abality in the game. It was just me being amazed at you trying to down play a 9th level slot...

heck lets really 'waste' a 9th level slot and up cast fireball is that 13 or 14d6?

if you get 3 targets and 2 save for half and 1 doesn't with 13d6 that is 13-78 pr about 46 damage to 1 and 46 split between the other two... for 92 damage.

a fighter with 4 attacks a +3 weapon and hitting 75% of the time with a d10 weapon will be doing 1d10+8 so 14 x.75 so about 11 per swing so about 44 per round so that is more then 2 rounds of a fighter fighting... and that is if not the worst one of the worst ways to use a 9th level slot (and it might be 1d6 more)
