When someone doesn’t understand what you’re saying, it’s on you to explain it. If you’re just repeating yourself, you’re not actually helping convey your meaning or point.

Way more than a few times, I've just accepted I'm unable to communicate something in a way intended that the other person is willing to receive and its just time to dust off the hands and walk away.

There’s also a huge difference between trying to explain something and mindlessly repeating yourself. If your goal is to communicate, you will explain what you mean in more than one way. If your goal is to bludgeon the other person, you will mindlessly repeat yourself.
