Arguers can only argue about something if someone bothers to argue back at them. There's always the option of simply noting the truth/evidence/etc just once, and then not engaging arguers who try to pick a fight. Let the statement speak for itself.

That's basically the whole of the internet. Take this anecdotes are not evidence subthread. That's a hill people will die on. The argument will last as long as people are willing to engage with it. No one will budge. It will just continue until people are too tired to bother or a mod comes along to stop it.
