Subtitles are for when a movie was shot in one language, but is being shown in a country where that language is uncommon.

I don't need my fantasy films to use multiple languages (real or not) to show people speaking different languages. Should communication between characters who don't share a language be a thing in the plot, then bring it in. Otherwise don't bother. And for "other languages" I'm usually content to have the Hogan's Heroes solution of foreign accent = foreign language.

Not me at any of the Marvel Thor movies: "What the hell do you mean, this isn't Scandy Noir!?!?"

But back to the much more important bagels discussion. A few things in no particular order, and without any necessary connection between them:

I'd never heard of everything bagels until I watched Everything, Everywhere, All At Once.

Capers should be a bit salty. The sweeter the other fillings, the saltier the capers can be.

Do Americans not consider a bagel a sandwich? (I may be mis-reading between the lines here.)

Brie and labneh are excellent on bagels. As is any other soft cheese. (no, don't show me that picture of the maggot cheese again.)

Die Hard is an awesome naughty word movie. (wait, this may not be bagel related.)

I had that Micronauts cruiser and it was great! And not flimsy. And not bagel related.

I still need to see that!

If it is toppings between it (like sausage and egg for breakfast, or whatever) then it's definitely a sandwich. If it's sliced with something spread on it and it is open face then no.

The makers of popular film and television, apparently. That what I was responding to.
Really? I did a quick search and only found an old article about YouTube removing subtitles. I didn't find anything about anyone else removing them. And all the TV and movies I watch (via streaming) have them--which, admittedly, is not a lot of TV and movies, but it's some.
