that is because book releases were pushed back, so now they sit close together, not because there are some many releases throughout the year

It is also conflated with the increased release rate. A perfect storm if you will. And even with this it’s slower than 3e and still too much.

While I do like his videos and a lot of his points, I feel the need to point out that he is making his own game that will compete with D&D, even if somewhat.

Because the slow approach works better over the long haul. And theybhave changed it, we are getting five books this year after five books last year!

Someone who claims that they ignore WotC's business doesn't know anything about their business complains about their business while the TTRPG made more money every single year for over a decade.
The problem isn't WotC mothballing D&D the RPG.

The problem is Colville mothballing his connection to the RPG business that WotC has been dramatically more successful with than he has

THey why dont they make more of that, even of a slow release schedule if that is the demand, why dont they make more books like that is my question, people say its "because they are good stewards who want wants best for the game" I dont think thats reality, their is a demand for more options and stuff, they do not release stuff like that, why are they opting to make less money.

Because the current balance is in line with the ratio of profits (investment into designers/art/development and outsourcing in relation to return) that they want.

Dang it, I don't really want it to be much higher, but I also want all these books...which might make it an effective test, putting interest versus overwhelming volume to the test.

I’ll add to that. WotC does want to encourage FLGS to carry the books. So not only buy them all but buy them at your FLGS and make your demands to them.
