"Hmm this thread may be interesting"

"..so 4E.."

Annnnnnnnnnnd we are out.

My entire political stance basically boils down to "We should care about other people" and BOY does it make people MAD.
Douglas Adams said:
And then, one Thursday, nearly two thousand years after one man had been nailed to a tree for saying how great it would be to be nice to people for a change, a girl sitting on her own in a small café in Rickmansworth suddenly realized what it was that had been going wrong all this time, and she finally knew how the world could be made a good and happy place. This time it was right, it would work, and no one would have to get nailed to anything.

I can't help it; I'm a civil engineer and I love concrete.
In the 1906 San Francisco earthquakes, several statues in UC Berkeley’s courtyard of great figures in various fields got toppled from pedestals and broken. A story says that two biology professors walking through there not long afterward noticed that Louis Agassiz was one of the fallen.

Prof. A: What do you make of Agassiz?

Prof. B: I have long admired Dr. Agassiz in the abstract, and happy now to consider him in the concrete.

I, too, love Concrete. And I'm not a civil engineer, nor even an uncivil one.
I was in college when those were coming it, and fell on each issue of Dark Horse Presents (and later his own series) with glad cries. Some of the most amazing comics art ever, and such humane warmth to the stories.

If you kids don’t start behaving, I’m going to talk about the semiotics of hit points some more. And you won’t likely. Don’t make me quote Wittgenstein. You wouldn’t like me when I’m quoting Wittgenstein.

(And of course that’s my secret: I’m always quoting Wittgenstein.)
