Yeah, it's time for me to leave that thread. All of my prior attempts to explain my point of view were immediately met with "so what you're really saying is (deliberately obtuse interpretation)," without even trying to understand what I actually wrote. You clearly need this conversation to go a certain way, so I won't distract you further.

I guess this needs to be explicitly said: All of these message boards threads are not personal messages directed at you. You do not need to click on all of them or respond to them. Other people are allowed to discuss things that you disagree with or even upset you, so long as they do not violate board policies or standards of behavior.

I have a feeling this thread in particular has led to the most misunderstandings in that respect on the forum

Note to self- if you're traveling internationally with a bunch of high school kids and you end up in giant crowds repeatedly over the course of a few weeks, you are going to end up with the flu. Or COVID.
